In June 2016, the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit in US federal court challenging the constitutionality of anti-hacking laws, arguing they prevent academics and others from collecting data for investigative purposes. This panel will debate the pragmatic dangers of over-legislating cybersecurity to R&D and the practice of cybersecurity in general.
