At RSAC™ Conference, our mission is to help move the cybersecurity industry forward by creating a forum where the global cybersecurity community can come together to learn and innovate. As we strive toward this mission, we also aim to support the local San Francisco community, while doing our part to reduce the environmental impact and increase the social impact of our event. RSAC™ Conference strives to make impactful decisions through procurement and supplier partnerships.
Environmental Sustainability
Waste Management
Involves all RSAC stakeholders. RSAC™ Conference is working to reduce the waste created and we invite our partners to do the same.
- In partnership with the Moscone Center, RSAC™ Conference waste is sorted to reduce contamination within the compost and recycling streams.
- Exhibitors are asked to take a sustainability survey to share with us what decisions they are making while at RSAC™ Conference.
- Attendees can also get involved by making mindful decisions on what materials are being brought to the Conference. Remember to bring your reusable bottles and cups.
Did You Know:
Taking BART to/from SFO and The Moscone Center emits 3.12 lbs of CO2 while taking a rideshare emits 11.73 lbs of CO2.
San Francisco’s Moscone Center announced in November 2023 that it has been awarded LEED Platinum certification for Existing Building Operations and Maintenance, the highest level of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). This makes San Francisco the only city in the world to have the most advanced LEED Platinum certification for both its convention center and airport.
Venue Selection
Deciding which venue to host Conference at affects the carbon emissions of RSAC as well as the environmental impact of bringing the cybersecurity community together. By choosing to host RSAC™ Conference at the Moscone Center, we are choosing the highest scoring Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) convention center in the world.
