Lucy Thomson, Esq., CISSP, CIPP/US, focuses on cybersecurity, global data privacy, compliance, and risk management. A career white collar crime prosecutor at the US Justice Department, she subsequently worked as a senior engineer at CSC, a global technology company. Appointed Consumer Privacy Ombudsman in 35 federal bankruptcy cases, she has overseen the disposition of more than 350 million electronic consumer records. She is past chair of the ABA Science & Technology Law Section, member of the Cybersecurity Legal Task Force, co-editor of The Internet of Things: Legal Issues, Policy, and Practical Strategies, and contributing author to the ABA Cybersecurity Handbook and books/chapters on emerging technologies. She received a master’s degree from RPI and a JD degree from Georgetown.
