Andrus Ansip was Prime Minister of Estonia in 2007 when, as a result of increasing tensions with Russia, a wave of massive cyber-attacks crippled critical national institutions and downed the websites for the Estonian parliament, banks, ministries and broadcast media across the country.
More than eleven years later, Andrus has used his experience from those events to take on the role of Vice President of the European Commission responsible for Digital Single Market to protect the E.U. and its allies from international cyber-attacks of the highest level.
Following his opening remarks, Ansip sits down with internationally-renown broadcast journalist Riz Khan to discuss what he believes are the necessary next steps to achieving global cooperation for cybersecurity.
