Given its critical role, the Domain Name System (DNS) has become an inviting target for denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. Recently, several DoS vulnerabilities that exploit subtle features of the DNS protocols have been discovered. This session will review these DoS vulnerabilities, discuss state-of-the-art defenses, and chart a path that could lead to fundamentally secure DNS infrastructure.
