In 2019, the New York Police Department piloted a strategy led by Nick Selby to address cyber-enabled crimes department-wide. This talk will discuss why this is hard: the challenges of getting the right metrics, training and supporting officers, understanding the demography, and overcoming ad hoc approaches to respond at scale, and some of the NYPD’s surprising findings about victimology.
