OpenSSL is being FIPS 140-2 validated after a hiatus of seven years. This validation of great importance to the industry since it supports both TLS v1.3 and FIPS in the same release of OpenSSL for the first time. This presentation will cover the architectural changes made to OpenSSL to accommodate the FIPS validation, the scope of the validation, current status and next steps post-validation.
