The Long Road to Identity on the Blockchain

Posted on in Presentations

Public blockchains may be the only serious data management systems that take people and process out of the conventional security triad. They support a very specialized use case (peer-to-peer e-cash) without trust, which is almost the opposite of identity. Here we look at how new synchronous ledger technologies are being designed afresh for identity.

Learning Objectives:
1: Review what the original blockchain was designed for and what it cannot do.
2: Compare and contrast essential elements of blockchains and identity management.
3: Explore an R&D roadmap for rigorous design of synchronous ledgers for IdAM.
