Foreign Espionage, Social Media, and the Unwitting Insider Threat

Convergence of traditional human intelligence (HUMINT) tradecraft and APT style cyber threats occurs in the gray zone between Information Security and Industrial Security and may go undetected as a result, making the "unwitting insider" extremely difficult problem to identify. This talk will examine some trends associated with foreign exploitation of social media as an intelligence tool and how insider threat programs can identify potential warning signs of an unwitting recruitment.
