The Government of India constituted a committee to study issues related to data protection which brought out a white paper, laid down the principles. The report with a draft bill were submitted and placed in the public domain for consultation. Based on feedback steps are afoot to bring about data protection legislation. Two officers involved will present their ideas at RSAC.
