RSAC 2022 Call for Speakers is Open

Posted on

The first half of 2021 has rocked the cybersecurity industry, testing security professionals to strengthen their overall security postures in the face of myriad cyberattacks. The threat of ransomware looms large, and the new Executive Order from the Biden Administration with its emphasis on Zero Trust and software integrity will have trickle-down effects that impact every organization. There will be no shortage of topics to be covered at RSA Conference 2022. It’s time for you to start thinking about the experiences you’ve endured, the obstacles you’ve overcome and how you can share your stories with the greater community. We are excited to announce that the RSAC 2022 Call for Speakers has launched and will remain open until July 15, 2021.

The RSA Conference 2021 theme of Resilience was one that our community could connect with and garnered thousands of submissions. Our agenda this year explored everything from securing the remote workforce to foreign influence. Though connecting your submission to the theme is certainly not a prerequisite to having your submission selected, resilience was a theme that permeated (and often blended the lines between) our personal and professional lives well into 2021. From our resilience, we have been able to Transform, which is our theme for 2022, and one that we know will be the goal of your overall security posture as you plan for the future. We look forward to reading your submissions.

To help answer any questions you might have about the submission process, we have pulled together several resources that you can review and return to at rsaconference.com throughout the Call for Speakers submissions process. Below are links to sources that should prove useful to you in developing a compelling speaker proposal:

1. Sample Submissions: Looking at samples gives you a glimpse into how to effectively craft a superior submission. These examples come from some of the top-rated sessions and speakers in years past. Use these as a guide but know that it wasn’t just the actual submissions that shined. These speakers also accepted feedback from the Program Committee, applied it to the presentations and executed a delivery that impressed attendees.

2. Tips to WOW Reviewers: While we have provided tips to help you best frame your submission, we also encourage you to view this webinar, How to WOW Submission Reviewers with a Stellar Proposal, with actual speakers whose initial submissions weren’t accepted. What’s important to stress is that it is very clear when a submission has been written by an actual speaker. Those ideas that come in from a PR or marketing person on behalf of the speaker are also quite clear. Often, the latter doesn’t make it through the selection process. Your submission is not a marketing brochure—it is your opportunity to show the Program Committee (and eventually the attendees) that you are a passionate expert with a well-thought-out proposal, showing in-depth insights unique from the hundreds of other submissions they are reviewing.

3. FAQs: Got questions? We have answers. While not an exhaustive list, the FAQs represent the main questions we’ve seen year over year. You’ll also find information on key dates and deadlines and highlights of the different opportunities available at Conference.

4. Tracks: As industry trends emerge, our tracks evolve. Some are pillars of the industry, but this year, the Zero Trust track is new, and Protecting Data & the Supply Chain is returning. Additionally, Cloud SecOps is an added focus on the Cloud Security track. The tracks will evolve, and your submission could influence the outcome, so be sure to submit even if your idea doesn’t seem to fit within what’s listed.

RSA Conference is where the world comes together to talk security. Our attendees bring a wealth of experience, and they look to our speakers for actionable insights and quality education. What makes it onto the agenda is selected by a Program Committee comprised of industry experts—security professionals, privacy experts, data scientists, technology experts, researchers, government employees, attorneys and others. Two to three judges carefully review every single submission for each track. They pick the sessions they think best collectively deliver a comprehensive view of the topics that belong on their track, and they are eager to see what you can bring to the conversation this year.

Thank you for taking the time to share your wisdom with the cybersecurity community. Your commitment to the advancement of others is what strengthens the professionals in our industry. Good luck, and we certainly hope to see you as a speaker at RSAC 2022.
