Richard Newell

Richard Newell architects industry leading security features for Microchip’s FPGAs and SoC FPGAs. Richard is an electrical engineer with over 45 years of experience and well over one dozen US patents. He has been active in RISC-V International from the start and currently chairs the RISC-V High Assurance Cryptography task group. He is an alumnus of the University of Iowa. Richard is on the Board of Directors of the Theta Tau Educational Foundation, a 501(c)3 charity that provides scholarships to Engineering students.
