A 25-year Cybersecurity Veteran, Dr. Cynthia Sutherland serves as the Emerging Industries Lead for Security Assurance at Amazon Web Services (AWS) assisting customers with integration of cybersecurity into the cloud for Automotive, Manufacturing, Media & Entertainment, and Sports Industries. Prior to joining AWS, Dr. Sutherland served as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at FEMA and Joint Chiefs of Staff, where she provided leadership for integrating cybersecurity into Emergency Management Systems and secure interoperability of military weapons. As CISO, she provided executive leadership for foundational cybersecurity services of Cybersecurity Policy, Planning, and Workforce Development; Identity, Credential, and Access Management; DevSecOps; Governance, Risk, & Compliance; and Security Operations.
