Chris Shawn has over 30 years of experience in security, privacy and strategic management. He currently works as a healthcare security architect at the Veterans Health Administration, where he has worked for 11 years principally in strategic security architecture. Shawn additionally served 20 years in the US Navy, with multiple positions as a security manager and on the staff of the Navy Surgeon General. He also is active in standards development as a Co-Chair of the Security Work Group in Health Level Seven International (HL7) and Co-Chair of the Cross-Enterprise Security and Privacy Authorization (XSPA) Technical Committee in OASIS. Shawn holds security and privacy certifications including CISSP-ISSAP, HCISPP and CIPP/G, and has a master’s degree from Texas Tech University.
