The 2017 Global Information Security Workforce Study by (ISC)2 predicted that our industry is on pace to reach a cybersecurity workforce gap of 1.8 million by 2022, meaning there will be nearly 2 million positions that cannot be filled due to a lack of qualified cyber talent. This discussion will focus on some of the reasons behind the skills gap - including misalignment on recruiting millennials, women and minorities to the profession – and some of the methods that can be deployed to reverse this dire situation, including cross-training for a broader set of IT pros.
