With the unprecedented amount of interest in human genomic data and the number of testing services available to consumers, experts at RSA Conference 2020 discussed the issues of balancing consumer privacy demands and pleas to make genomic data accessible for both corporate and academic research. There are countless ways that genomic data could be used for the good of humanity, however, the security and privacy of personal data -- and clarity around who owns genomic data -- is equally as important.
