It has been a whirlwind of a week! Over the past five days, we have seen more than 36,000 attendees, 704 speakers, and 658 exhibitors gather in San Francisco to discuss the industry’s most important topics, from election security to genomics to privacy and much more.
The 29 keynotes and 520 sessions featured acclaimed speakers like Mary Barra, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of General Motors Company; Wendy Nather, Head of Advisory CISOs, Cisco; Dmitri Alperovitch, Co-Founder, CrowdStrike; Bruce Schneier, Security Technologist, Researcher and Lecturer, Harvard Kennedy School; and many other experts from the cybersecurity industry and beyond.
Let’s look back at the fifth and final day of RSAC 2020:
RSAC College Day wrapped up today. As the world’s largest cybersecurity event, and the meeting point for cybersecurity’s most accomplished innovators and experts, RSAC welcomed 650 current students, recent graduates and faculty to explore career options, hear from the best in the field, and network with leading companies. Today’s Job Search 2020: Interview Skills & Resume Review Workshop included an interview skills and resume workshop that demonstrated how to best present yourself and your skills to potential employers.
In his keynote, Collaborating to Improve Open Source Security: How the Ecosystem Is Stepping Up, Mark Russinovich, CTO of Microsoft Azure, discussed the efforts across industry and open source communities to improve upon open source security, covered projects focused on a software bill of materials, and shared best practices for consumers and software vendors. “Participation from the whole ecosystem is required. In reality, nobody’s competing on open source security, we all want to make it better,” Russinovich stated.
Closing out RSAC Conference 2020 with The Hugh Thompson Show, we saw mystery and magic intersect with human behavior analysis as the ever-popular duo Penn & Teller entertained the audience with their unique tricks and renowned expert Dr. Lorrie Cranor gave insight into human behavior and security fallibility.
Looking Ahead
And with that, we close out RSA Conference 2020! We were thrilled to see so many familiar faces, along with many new ones joining for the first time. We hope all attendees left RSAC 2020 feeling inspired, and with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the human element in cybersecurity.
