And just like that, RSAC 2023 has come to a close! Over the past four days, we have featured 33 keynote presentations, 650+ featured acclaimed speakers and 313 sessions while hosting more than 600 Expo exhibitors. Highlights and memories we’ll take home with us include HiddenLayer’s recognition as RSA Conference’s 2023 most innovative startup, BalanceTheory, Guardrail, and Qwerx being recognized as finalists in the RSAC Launch Pad and Paul Kocher being awarded the Excellence in Mathematics Award.

Here are a few last highlights from the fourth and final day of RSAC 2023:

In an always engaging session, this year’s College Day Breakfast and Sponsor Panelfeatured experts from Walmart, Cisco and Google, who provided guidance and shared their expertise with a room full of college students and recent graduates looking to break into the dynamic cybersecurity industry.

In Ransomware: From the Boardroom to the Situation Room, the panelsimulated a government meeting to illustrate how senior federal officials might react and respond to a major cyberattack. This simulation highlighted the importance of close collaboration between public and private sectors to prevent/fight malicious cyber activity, and brought together CISOs, advisors, and experts from the Center of Strategic and International Studies in an engaging life-like scenario.

Continuing the partnership discussion, experts from some of the leading U.S. Government agencies graced our stage in From Public-Private Partnerships to Operational Collaborationto discuss the strong collaboration within public-private partnerships that has developed in the past few years. Hailing from the Department of Defense, Department of Treasury, the FBI and the Department of Energy, panelists painted a picture of what it’s like on the front lines of the nation’s cybersecurity efforts and shared lessons learned, successes and plans to scale and meet demand.

Next, we heard from security experts and Forrester analyst Laura Koetzle in Standards on the Horizon: What Matters Most?, which honed in on the importance of standards, time to market, interoperability and environmental health and their impact on company roadmaps and priorities for the coming year.

Closing out RSAC Conference 2023, The Hugh Thompson Show welcomed special guests Emmy Award-Winning Actor Christopher Lloyd (also known as Doc Brown from the Back to the Future movies), renowned cryptographer and independent researched Paul Kocher and Shohini Ghose, a professor from Wilfrid Laurier University, for an exciting conversation on quantum science, computing, cryptography, and the future of possibilities.
