Celebrating Awareness with Human Success Stories

Posted on by Kacy Zurkus

As part of our mission to deliver quality content that matters year-round, RSA Conference is excited to announce a few new endeavors that will not only align with National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) but also share stories related to the RSAC 2020 theme “Human Element.”

In response to the overwhelming number of submissions we received during the Call for Speakers, we realized that industry leaders have an abundance of wisdom to share. Their experiences in working to develop security awareness and training programs is invaluable, and while we won’t know until November which submissions will be selected for Conference, we wanted to use this moment in time to share the many voices of our community. Here’s a look at what’s to come for blogs, the podcast, and the webcast throughout the month of October.

Leaders of Human Awareness

We are thrilled to let you know that we will be featuring several different perspectives from leaders of human awareness in a blog series.

Additionally, we are excited to broaden the discussion about security awareness in our upcoming podcast with guests Perry Carpenter and Prudence Smith. Perry will offer an interesting perspective on the value of neurodiversity, and together, he and Prudence will discuss the human challenges enterprises confront with a non-diverse workforce. The discussion, led by Britta Glade and Hugh Thompson, will cover everything from management styles and team building to recruiting in cybersecurity. It’s sure to be a compelling dialogue that will offer insight into where to find talent and how to attract the next generation of cybersecurity leaders.

Finally, we’ll close out the month with a special webcast with Lance Spitzner, titled “Leading Change for CISOs: Creating a Secure Culture.” Check back on the site soon to register for this!

Human as Hero Blog Series

Because we want to recognize the incredible work that defenders are doing, we will also be running a blog series that highlights the achievements and successes of humans in the cybersecurity industry. Whether it’s honoring those professionals who volunteer their time to cybersecurity education or applauding the security team’s ability to stop a ransomware attack, we will look at what humans are doing right and how they are contributing to the ‘win’ in enterprise security.

Be sure to check back on RSAConference.com during NCSAM for all this awesome content we have in store!
