It’s an honor and a pleasure to have RSA Conference return to San Francisco for its 29th year. Meetings like yours are a vital part of our city’s economy, and we look forward to your return.

Last year, I shared with you detailed information related to new initiatives to address attendee concerns and improve the streets of San Francisco. Those efforts remain ongoing, with the continued dedication of our city government and the support and participation of our city’s tourism and hospitality industry.

Since you were last here, the City and County of San Francisco has:

• Added $725,000 to the city budget for additional street cleaning.
• Increased police foot patrols and public restrooms in highly visited neighborhoods.
• Revitalized once questionable areas like the Civic Center lawns into centers of city life.
• Lowered instances of violent crime.
• Added nearly 350 shelter beds to the City supply.
• Expanded and strengthened conservatorship laws, allowing action to be more easily taken to help those who cannot help themselves.

San Francisco Travel has done its part, too. We’ve leant our support to ballot measures designed to speed up the production of new, affordable housing. We co-sponsored this June’s “Love Our City” event, in which more than 700 people in the hospitality industry spent the day beautifying neighborhoods frequented by visitors. We are now partnering with Downtown Streets, an organization dedicated to cleaning up our city and providing our unsheltered neighbors with meaningful and needed jobs. With our expanded focus on the neighborhood surrounding The Moscone Center, we're bringing another level of commitment to improving the attendee experience. Our team works Monday through Friday. As this important work continues, we are proud to highlight all that there is to celebrate in our city. San Francisco is always evolving, and there’s always something new to experience during your visit. 

• Our airport continues to expand, with both additional airlift and improved terminals.
• The Grand Hyatt SFO officially opened its doors this month. Located on airport property, the hotel has 351 rooms and 15,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. This luxury property has direct access to all SFO terminals.
• In the inaugural Michelin Guide to California, two-thirds of all Michelin stars were awarded to San Francisco restaurants, demonstrating the unbeatable depth and diversity of culinary talent in our city.
• The Chase Center, the new home of the Golden State Warriors, has opened. This 18,000-seat venue, the latest addition to San Francisco’s evolving, iconic skyline, promises to bring more than just championship basketball to the City by the Bay.
