RSA Conference has a tradition of political figures providing the keynote presentation, with Condoleezza Rice, Bill Clinton and Tony Blair taking the stage in recent years. RSAC is taking a fresh spin on that tradition, announcing that political satirist, comedian and best-selling author Stephen Colbert will provide the Conference’s closing keynote presentation on Friday, February 28 in San Francisco.
Many will know Colbert from his time on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” or from his caricatured portrayal of a conservative political pundit on his popular and critically-acclaimed series “The Colbert Report.” Using the platform of the show, Colbert has made many political subjects more accessible to the broader public and generated discourse through events like the Federal Election Commission hearing for his Super PAC- which was approved- and the “Rally To Restore Sanity and/or Fear,” co-hosted with Jon Stewart.
Security is a mainstream issue and having a keynote speaker who is influential in both politics and the mainstream media will bring a different perspective to an issue that is now at the forefront of everyone’s minds. This year’s keynote presentation is guaranteed to be an intelligent, lively and boisterous experience for the thousands of conference attendees.
