William Harmer

William (Bil) Harmer joined GoodData as CSO from SuccessFactors, an SAP company where he served as VP security and cloud privacy officer. In addition to his CISSP, CISM and CIPP certifications, Harmer is a visionary that pioneered the use of the SAS70 framework against the control criteria from ISO27002 as a trust methodology for Cloud, which evolved into the SSAE16 SOC2 audit. While at SFSF, he built its security, privacy and compliance programs and went through multiple SOC1 and SOC2 audits. He led the security and risk tracks to acquire and integrate five companies and completed the acquisition by SAP for $3.6B. At SAP he ran IT risk management and R&D for cloud security. Prior to SFSF/SAP, Harmer managed security for Manulife Financial, Critical Path and DocSpace.
