Walter Williams served as a security architect at firms as diverse as GTE Internetworking, State Street, Teradyne, The Commerce Group and EMC. He has since moved to security management, where he'd served as at IdentityTruth, Passkey, Lattice Engines and now serves as the CISO for Monotype. He is an outspoken proponent of design before build, an advocate of frameworks and standards. He is the author of two books, Security for Service Oriented Architectures, and How to Create an Information Security Program from Scratch. He has sat on the board of directors for the NE ISSA chapter, was a member of the program committee for Metricon 8 and 10, and has contributed to the metrics committee for the Cloud Security Alliance. He has a MA in Anthropology from Hunter College.
