Stacey Schesser is the Supervising Deputy Attorney General for the Privacy Unit in the Consumer Protection Section of the Office of the California Attorney General. She oversees civil enforcement of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the office’s cases against Sephora, DoorDash, Kaiser, and Google. She began her career at the Attorney General’s Office in 2007 in its Criminal Division and has worked in the Privacy Unit since its inception in 2012. Stacey is the 2024 California Lawyers Association’s “Privacy Lawyer of the Year” and was a recipient of the Recorder’s “Women Leader in Tech Law” in 2019. Stacey received her JD at UC Berkeley’s School of Law and received her BA at Douglass College, Rutgers University.
