Shawn Powers

Shawn Powers (she/her) serves as the Interim Director of AI Policy at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) shaping and guiding the approach to AI use across the university with a strong emphasis on ethics, transparency, and accountability. Prior to this role, she was the Associate Dean of the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education where she oversaw operations including course scheduling, adjunct faculty management, and academic policy. She is a founding member of SNHU’s Academic Integrity Initiative which develops multi-faceted strategies to combat academic cheating. Prior to joining higher ed, Shawn worked as an actor in NYC and an arts education director. She holds a B.F.A. from NYU, an M.A. from Teachers College Columbia University, and an Ed.D. from Plymouth State University.
