While he started engaging with APT actors by running live malware on dedicated systems, he has spent the last seven years engaging with BEC actors to understand what makes the Nigerian fraud wheel spin. As a Principal Threat Advisor at Cofense, Ronnie helps raise awareness and train the world about the true scale of business email compromise, advocates for romance victims and money mules, and tries to shed light on the deeper problems that are responsible for hundreds of billions of dollars in global losses.
