Director, Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency’s (NCATS) Program
Rob Karas directs the National Cybersecurity Assessments and Technical Services (NCATS) program at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. NCATS conducts vulnerability scans and pen tests for a broad array of stakeholders, both inside and outside of government. Mr. Karas came to DHS in 2010 and has over 22 years of experience in the INFOSEC field and in creating pen test and security teams. Prior to DHS, Mr. Karas developed private sector security ops and pen test teams and spent 5 years at DISA, where he helped originate the Automated Systems Security Incident Support Team (ASSIST) and Vulnerability Analysis and Assistance Program (VAAP). He has a B.S. in Information Management from James Madison Univ. and maintains a variety of leadership and technical certifications.
