Richard Evanchec

Richard J. Evanchec is Section Chief of the FBI Cyber Division’s Critical Cyber Incident Operations Section and is the Director of the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force. In these roles, he leads collaboration across the FBI and with interagency partners to mitigate the risk and impact of significant cyber intrusions. Prior to taking his current assignment, Richard was the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh Field Office. Richard has served as a Special Agent with the FBI since 2008 and over the course of his career, has advanced critical work in national security and violent crime spaces; that work has resulted in several high-profile criminal convictions which have been recognized by the United States Department of Justice.
