Philip Martin

Philip Martin is Chief Security Officer for Coinbase Global Inc. He is responsible for developing the physical and cyber technology, processes, and team that safely store one of the world’s largest holdings of cryptocurrency. Under his stewardship, Coinbase has safely stored more than $25B in crypto without ever experiencing a breach or loss of customer funds. In addition, Philip manages the insurance program that covers Coinbase in case of a breach. It is one of the largest and most comprehensive policies of its type ever conceived. Prior to Coinbase, Philip built and led the Incident Response and Security Engineering teams at Palantir Technologies, developed new virtual infrastructure at Amazon A9, and spent a decade as a US Army counterintelligence agent, in foreign and domestic roles.
