Head of Secure by Design, Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport
Peter Stephens is the Head of Secure by Design in the UK government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. His team works alongside the NCSC and strives to support the IoT sector and protect consumers by sharing, promoting and embedding strong cybersecurity principles within the design of consumer IoT devices. His team published the Code of Practice for Consumer IoT Security in October 2018 and in May 2019 published a series of proposals to make aspects of this code mandatory so as to address worst practices and protect citizens.
