Dr. Peter Bloniarz is Executive Director and Senior Policy Advisor for the New York State Cyber Security Advisory Board. The Board was created by Governor Andrew Cuomo in May 2013 to work with his administration on innovative strategies to help keep New Yorkers and New York institutions safe from cyberthreats. For more than 35 years, Bloniarz has also been on the faculty at the University at Albany/State University of New York, where he is a Collins Fellow. He was the Founding Dean of the University’s College of Computing and Information, the Interim Vice President for Research, and a Co-Founder of the Center for Technology in Government. He received a bachelor’s degree from Holy Cross College, a master’s from the University of Massachusetts, and a Ph.D. from M.I.T.
