Patrick Longa

Patrick Longa is a cryptography developer and researcher in the XCG Security and Cryptography Group at Microsoft Research. Longa’s research interests involve cryptography, mainly on elliptic curves, efficient algorithms and implementation of cryptographic systems, and side-channel analysis. He received the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, Canada, in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 2011. During his time at Waterloo, he was also a member of the Centre for Applied Cryptographic Research (CACR). He was awarded with the NSERC Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship and was an invited speaker at the 15th Workshop on Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC 2011).
