Nicole Perlroth covers cybersecurity and privacy for the New York Times. Perlroth was awarded the “Best in Business” prize by the Society of American Business Editors for her coverage of Chinese cyberespionage and selected as one of the Top Cybersecurity Journalists by the SANS Institute. She broke the story of the National Security Agency’s efforts to crack encryption and helped identify two Chinese military units responsible for thousands of attacks on US institutions. Her 2014 Times profile of security blogger Brian Krebs has been optioned by Sony Pictures. She is currently at work on This Is How They Tell Me The World Ends, a cybersecurity book for Penguin/Portfolio (2017).
