Michelle Woods is the Director of Homeland Security for the US Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. In this capacity, Woods manages the Homeland Security team, supervising staff and advising on a wide range of national security policy issues. Woods leads the oversight of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and led major legislative initiatives, including the effort to re-authorize DHS, establishment of the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. Prior to joining the Committee, she served for nearly a decade at the US Government Accountability Office where she led numerous program evaluations and investigations of the DHS and the Intelligence Community.
