Michal Freedhoff is Senior Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator Ed Markey. Since 2001, Freedhoff has advised Sen. Markey on a variety of policy issues, including vehicle safety and cybersecurity issues. As Policy Director for then-Rep. Markey, she was responsible for automobile fuel efficiency, the fuel economy provisions of the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act, the Cash for Clunkers program and other advanced technology issues related to the auto industry. She has been active in cybersecurity issues, currently managing Sen. Markey’s review of automobile cybersecurity issues. Freedhoff received her B.Sc. in physical chemistry from McGill University in 1991, and her Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Rochester in 1995.
