Sworn in as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1998, Michael Osborn has investigated hate crimes, assaults on federal officers, civil rights violations, and crimes against children. Osborn also supported the FBI's counterterrorism efforts while deployed to Iraq in 2007 and Afghanistan in 2008. Osborn currently serves as Chief of the Violent Crimes Against Children Unit. In this role, he oversees the FBI’s child exploitation domestic investigative operations including management of 71 FBI-led Child Exploitation Task Forces involving nearly 400 state and local partner agencies. He received the Attorney General's Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement in 2003 and the Assistant Attorney General's Award for Distinguished Service in 2011.
