Michael South

Michael South is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at DICK’S Sporting Goods with over 30 years of cybersecurity and technology leadership experience. Previously a Vice President at IBM, he led CIO infrastructure, cybersecurity, and federal IT. Earlier, he was Americas Regional Leader for AWS Public Sector Security & Compliance, advising government, military, and nonprofit executives. He also served as Deputy CISO for Washington, DC, advancing governance, risk, and compliance and leading their cloud adoption strategy. A 25-year U.S. Navy veteran, Michael held senior roles including CIO for U.S. Navy Japan, Regional Director for Cybersecurity for Asia, and Operations Officer for Navy IT in Europe.
