Matthew Cronin

Matt Cronin is the Senior National Security Advisor at Andreessen Horowitz, where he leads efforts on national security legal and policy issues across the firm and its portfolio companies. Prior to joining a16z, Matt served as Chief Investigative Counsel and Deputy General Counsel for the congressional China Select Committee and as Director of National Cybersecurity at The White House. Matt has also held senior roles at the U.S. Department of Justice and spent years as a veteran federal prosecutor specializing in cybercrime and transnational criminal cases. Several of his prosecutions have won national awards, including at The White House. In addition, Matt is a Fulbright Scholar who has published articles on national security and emerging technology topics.
