Marina Kaljurand

Kaljurand was elected to the European Parliament and started her duties as MEP in 2019 after resigning from the Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu). She is the member of the Estonian Social Democrats Party and the UN Secretary General`s Advisory Board on Disarmament Matters. Kaljurand was a member of the UN Secretary General’s High Level Panel on Digital Cooperation. She is the Commissioner of the Global Commission of the Stability of Cyberspace until she was elected to the Estonian Parliament. Kaljurand served as Estonian Foreign Minister and has served twice as the Estonian National Expert at the UN Group of Governmental Experts in the field of IT in international security. She served as Ambassador to Israel, Russian, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Canada and the US. Kaljurand graduated cum laude from the Tartu University. She has a diploma from the Estonian School of Diplomacy and MA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University.
