Marc Vael

With three Master's degrees (Applied Economics, Information Management and IT Management). Marc Vael started as IT auditor and worked as CISO and DPO. Currently, Marc is Chief Audit Executive at Smals vzw, a Belgian not-for-profit IT company with more than 1.800 employees working primarily for Belgian Federal Social Security Institutions. In 2012 Marc became international vice-president of ISACA International and also president of the ISACA Belgium Chapter. For more than a decade Marc has been guest professor at Antwerp Management School and Solvay Brussels School . A deputy member of the Flemish Privacy Commission since 2010, he is also, since 2012, a member of the Permanent Stakeholder Group of ENISA.
