Luis Rivas

Luis Rivas is a Network and Data Security Engineer in the Department of Defense. With over a decade of experience in cybersecurity and IT management, this West Pointer has fortified critical infrastructures and advanced security protocols across diverse platforms. His expertise includes Interactive On-Net Operations, security research in industrial control systems, Windows exploitation, and cloud-based security assessments. Luis runs the DEFCON Cloud Village CTF, creating innovative CTF challenges to inspire the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. A published IEEE author, he was recognized for groundbreaking work on safe autonomous ship navigation and network operations. Luis holds GXPN, GPEN, GCPN, CISSP certs, and a MS in Security Informatics from Johns Hopkins University.
