Lucy Vasserman

Lucy Vasserman is a Software Engineer at Jigsaw, Alphabet's incubator focused on products to make the world safer. Lucy works on the Conversation AI team, which builds machine learning tools to spot online harassment. Her focus is on combating algorithmic bias and collaborating with users to ensure the Conversation AI models capture their needs. Lucy joined Google in 2010 and prior to joining Jigsaw, Lucy worked on machine learning research and engineering for other Google products. Lucy is passionate about education. She spent the fall of 2015 teaching computer science at Xavier University in New Orleans through the Google in Residence program and she serves on the Board of Advocates for Citizen Schools, a national non-profit that runs career-focused programming for middle schoolers.
