Kurt Callewaert

Kurt Callewaert (master mathematics) is a Lecturer and Research Manager for Applied Informatics at Howest. He is responsible for the education of computer and cybercrime professionals. Callewaert is researching blockchain, cybersecurity, OT security, GDPR and AI. Callewaert is the Chair of the NIS Focus Group in Belgium to convert the new European Cyber Security NIS legislation into concrete measures for companies. He is a member of the Cyber Security Coalition vzw and a founding member of the Beltug Blockchain Task Force. He is also a member of the ISO TC307 Blockchain and DLT standardization committee. Callewaert was the Project Manager of the fbirst by VLAIO (Flanders) funded research project about blockchain. He is Project Manager of BLING, a European project about blockchain in government.
