Karen Evans

Before being confirmed as Assistant Secretary for the Department of Energy’s Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security and Emergency Response (CESER), Karen S. Evans was the National Director of the US Cyber Challenge, a public-private program designed to help address the skills gap in the cybersecurity field. She also served as an independent director and outside manager for publicly-traded companies. Evans was previously a top IT official at the Office of Management and Budget under President George W. Bush in the position that is now known as the Federal CIO, and also served as CIO of the Department of Energy.
