Julie Klein is the National Security Advisor on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee for Ranking Member Gary Peters. She is the lead staffer on cyber, counterterrorism, and national security policy. Prior to joining the committee in 2017, Julie served as National Security Advisor and Deputy National Security Advisor for Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid. Previously, she served as the National Security Policy Advisor for the Senate Democratic Policy and Communications Center (DPCC) under Chairman Chuck Schumer, and before that, worked for Senator Tim Johnson. Julie is a graduate of Haverford College and holds an M.A. from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
