John Bruns is the Global CISO of Anomali, a Silicon Valley-based cybersecurity analytics and intelligence company. John previously served as CISO of Maryland and the 1st Director of Maryland State Cybersecurity. With 20+ years IT experience, he led cyber strategy and operations for organizations with $60B+ in revenue, $100+M cybersecurity budgets, technical experts across security operations & engineering, threat intelligence, network & endpoint detection and response, identity and access management, and more. An expert in supercharging SecOps Fusion Centers via AI-based capabilities and tools, John seeks to ensure IT security teams harness the power of their security telemetry to reduce exposure. John advocates the need for security insights to be an integral part of business decision making. Mr. Bruns holds an MS in Cybersecurity from Wilmington University, an MS in Education from Johns Hopkins University, and a BA in English from Wake Forest University.
