Jeanne Benincasa Thorpe was appointed Undersecretary of Homeland Security and Homeland Security Advisor to the Governor in January 2019 by Governor Charlie Baker. In her dual roles, the Undersecretary advises the administration on key policy and leads several agencies within the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security. Her integrated approach to build a sustained culture of preparedness stems from more than 25 years in both the public and private sectors. Prior to her current appointment, Benincasa Thorpe served as an executive at the Plymouth County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and several private organizations. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications at Providence College.
