On September 4, 2013, James B. Comey was sworn in as the seventh Director of the FBI. A New York native, Comey graduated from the College of William and Mary and the University of Chicago Law School. He served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in both the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of Virginia. He later returned to New York to serve as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. In 2003, he was nominated to serve as Deputy Attorney General of the Department of Justice. In 2005, he became general counsel and senior vice president of Lockheed Martin. In 2010, he joined Bridgewater Associates as its general counsel. Prior to joining the FBI, he served as the Hertog Fellow in National Security Law at Columbia Law School.
