Jaap van Oss

Jaap van Oss is working as a Team Leader Cybercrime in the European Cybercrime Centre (EC3) @Europol, since its establishment in January of this year (2013). His main responsibility is leading the operational activities of Europol in this area. Core of that work is Focal Point CYBORG, Europol’s project to tackle serious & organised cybercriminals affecting Europe and beyond. Jaap van Oss started in the Dutch National Crime Squad in 1996, and has been active in fighting cybercrime ever since. During that time he was involved in different Cybercrime projects for the Dutch National Police, such as the “Cybercop” & “Digital Blue” projects. He was also involved in the preparations for the current Team High Tech Crime in the NL. In 2007 he switched to Europol to fight Cybercrime.
