Gurpreet Bhatia

Mr. Gurpreet Bhatia serves as DoD’s Acting Deputy Chief Officer for Cybersecurity (CS) and Acting Chief Information Security Officer. In these roles he is the expert senior advisor to the DoD CIO for all CS policy, technical, program, and defense-wide oversight. With over 28 years of DoD and private industry experience, Mr. Bhatia is the two-time recipient of the Joint Meritorious Civilian Service Award, recipient of the National Partnership for Reinventing Government Award, and Vice President Gore's Hammer Award. He holds an Information Security Systems Engineer Certification, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Huntsville University of Alabama, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from Georgetown University.
